MMRDA floats bids for Smart BKC project

In a year’s time, the business district of Bandra-Kurla Complex will probably become India’s first mini Smart City.
The MMRDA has floated bids for Request For Proposal to design, develop, implement, operate and maintain the Smart BKC project.
“We expect the project to be up and running by mid-2016,” said Sanjay Sethi, additional metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA.
There will be many vendors who will be implementing the project and it will be co-ordinated for system integration by the company that wins the work.
Under this project, there will be WiFi hotspots, smart parking, smart street lights, video analytics and surveillance and citizen mobile application. The overall project estimate is Rs9.41 crore.
