Thirty-two notices have been issued to builders for flouting the BMC's advisory on prevention of monsoonrelated diseases.
Currently , 2,741 buildings are being constructed in Mumbai. In the P North ward covering Maland and Malwani, where close to 225 buildings are being constructed, 19 notices have been issued. In the N ward (Ghatkopar) three notices have been issued. Two each were issues in K West ward (Andheri) and P South (Goregoan). The advisory directs developers not to let water stagnate at construction sites and to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. A civic official said that their personnel would keep tabs on under-construction sites. “We have asked developers to comply within sev en days, failing which the stopwork notice would continue to stay,“ said the official.
