6,202 Mhada houses on sale in 2016: Hindustan Times

After Sunday's lottery f or 1, 063 houses, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) has announced the sale of a huge cluster of lowcost houses.

A total of 6,202 affordable houses - the highest till date - will be put on the block in 2016.

While 4,702 houses will be at Bolinj in Vasai, 1,500 will be at Powai, Mulund and Goregaon.

SS Zende, chief executive officer of Mhada, said that the housing body is making all efforts to increase the supply of houses to cater to the huge demand of affordable houses.

"We will undertake the housing project at Bolinj, where there is a huge tract of land. One and 2 BHK (bedroom-hall-kitchen) flats will be built in several phases," said Zende.
