Mumbai:
It will now be an uphill task for Campa Cola residents to get their 102 illegal flats regularized through the state government.
At a hearing held by the state urban development department in May , the residents had sought regularization under a draft notification of the Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) issued on March 31. But the notification was not applicable to Mumbai, Goa and Kerala. They had sought time from the state government to file suggestions before the MoEF , to make it applicable to Mumbai. The state government had granted them time and fixed the next hearing for July .
But, in its final notification on June 16, the MoEF again specified that it will not be applicable to Mumbai. The notification stated that Mumbai, Goa and Kerala will continue to be governed by earlier provisions of the coastal regulation zone notification, 2011.
The notification allows the application of development control regulations to all buildings permitted in CRZ-II on the landward side and floor space index (FSI) would be as per the 1991 level.
