The pre-bid or request for proposal (RFP) of BMC's coastal road project will take place on Wednesday . The RFP is being called for peer review of the project and will decide on Wednesday upon many points concerning the interested consultant like the quantum of its staff involved, the work they would do, the qualifications the staff has and the terms of the contract.
Around July 10, the municipal commissioner had invited Global Expression of Interest (EOI) for concurrent evaluation of the detailed project report and also for the bid process management. A civic official said one of the reasons for getting a concurrent evaluation done is to cross-check if whatever has been proposed is the best.
BMC officials claimed that the EOI was taken only to test the market and about 19 consultants came forward showing interest in it.
“There was a need to test the market and that has been done. We have found the consultants available with the eligibility required, based on which we have decided to go ahead and issue an RFP ,“ said a civic official.
The environment notification for the coastal road project came on July 25. For the RFP , only those having international work experience in at least two countries are eligible.
