MMRDA bldg construction delay costs Rs 19cr : The Times of India

An RTI query has revealed that the construction of a new building to house MMRDA's new headquarter, has cost the public exchequer Rs19 crore. The construction has been delayed for over seven years.
RTI activist Anil Galgali, who procured the information, said, “MMRDA has spent Rs 106 crore against the original approved cost of Rs 87 crore.“

The new building site is right behind the existing one in Bandra-Kurla complex.

The RTI reply also states that in spite of three extensions ( 2013, 2014 and 2015), the work on the 11-storey building has remained incomplete.

Galgali said MMRDA has blamed other agencies like BMC and the environment department for the delay .
