Cidco allots 2 plots for civic schools : Hindustan Times

THE MOVE OF ALLOTTING FREE LAND AIMS AT HELPING NEEDY AND MERITORIOUS STUDENTS OF THE CITY GET QUALITY EDUCATION

CBD BELAPUR: 

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has allotted two plots in CBD Belapur and Kopar Khairane nodes for construction of schools. The move of allotting free land to NMMC aims at helping economically weaker, needy and meritorious students of the city get quality education.

Cidco senior public relations officer Mohan Ninawe said: “Plot number 11 at sector 23 in Belapur admeasuring around 4,000 sqm area and plot number 20A at sector 23 in Kopar Khairane measuring around 3,500 sqm have been leased to the NMMC at a very nominal rate.”

The policy approved by the Cidco board of directors on May 26 last year was approved by the state government on September 9, 2014. “Accordingly, the plots have been leased to .NMMC at an annual rate of Rs100 for a 60-year period,” Ninawe said.

He added, “For water supply infrastructure development at CBD Belapur plot, the NMMC will have to pay Rs 2 lakh and for Kopar Khairane plot Rs 1,75,000 to Cidco.”

The allotment letter issued by Cidco mandates that the plot can be used only to construct co-educational school by the NMMC. Both the plots have an FSI of 1.
Ninawe said: “Since we have got the state gover nment’s approval, the Cidco board has decided that plots will also be given in four other nodes of NMMC for the construction of composite school and junior college.”

Ninawe said: “We are hopeful that the decisions will help provide free and quality education to the needy students of Navi Mumbai.”
